Linda J. Lopez

Senator Lopez served as a member of the Arizona Legislature from 2001 – 2014.  During her tenure, she held caucus leadership positions in both the Senate and House.  Among her committee assignments were Appropriations, Health, Human Services, and Joint Legislative Budget Committee.  She provided the language and leadership for the successful Smoke Free Arizona Initiative.  Lopez is known for her legislative leadership on women’s issues including reproductive health, children and family issues, accessible/affordable health care for all Arizonans, services for Arizonans with disabilities, and education Pre-K through University.  She held leadership positions for Easter Seals Blake Foundation and La Frontera Arizona.  She volunteers on several boards including the Foundation for Blended and Online Learning and the Arizona Virtual Academy.  She and her husband, Rudy Jones, have a blended family that includes her son and two daughters and Rudy’s three sons.  Together they have 11 grandsons with a twelfth due in October.

Linda J. Lopez is a member of the Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona Community Impact Committee since 2016.
