We cannot improve the status of women and girls in the community unless we have the facts. Our 2009 Status of Women Report, and our 2010 update, reveal the issues they face, the strengths and weaknesses of systems that do offer support, the gains that have been made, and the challenges that remain.
Each year, the WFSA provides thousands of dollars in grants to organizations that empower women and girls in Southern Arizona. We focus our support on economic self-sufficiency for women and girls.
WFSA is teaching upcoming generations about leadership, philanthropy and social justice. Through our Unidas program, we give high school girls hands-on experience in grant making. This year, young participants allocated $7,000 to an advocacy program to address sexual harassment and teen dating violence.
