Female
Faces of Philanthropy:
Helaine Levy

Helaine
Levy grew up in a Tucson family where service to the community and philanthropy
were considered an integral part of everyday life. These values continue to
be fundamental to both her personal and professional life. "I feel very
strongly about giving back to the community," she said.
Helaine serves as the Executive Director of her family's foundation, the Diamond
Foundation, which has supported a wide range of programs primarily in Tucson
and Pima County. "The Diamond Foundation invests in projects and programs
that we believe improve the quality of life in Tucson," Helaine said.
In addition to her work with her family foundation, Helaine serves as president
of Old Tucson Studios.
Helaine's commitment to the community extends beyond philanthropy. She has
also served on numerous boards and commissions at the state and local levels,
including the Arizona Motion Picture and Television Advisory Board; Arizona
Strategic Planning for Economic Development Tourism/Experience Cluster; Girl
Scouts as a Brownie Leader; Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona; Tucson Jewish
Community Center; KUAT/TV Advisory Board; University of Arizona MBA Advisory
Council; and the Metropolitan Tucson Convention Center and Visitor's Bureau.
Helaine is a former Women's Foundation Board member, and currently serves as
Chair of the WFSA Advisory Council. "I have been blessed with a wonderful
life," she said. "I feel fortunate to be able to help other women
and girls raise their standards of living through an organization like the Women's
Foundation."
