The Women's Foundation of Southern Arizona Board of Trustees is legally and morally responsible for ensuring that the Women's Foundation achieves its mission. Together, the Board and Executive Director are accountable to the community - including donors, grant recipients, and the community at large - for the Women's Foundation's activities, operations and the success of the Women's Foundation of Southern Arizona. Board of Trustees members serve three year terms with the option of serving two consecutive terms. All board members are expected to attend a majority of the board meetings and serve on a WFSA committee.


Nicci Hinderaker J.D. - Grants Committee Co-Chair
Nicci is an attorney and a mother of two young children. She is a former Assistant Attorney General who tried child abuse and neglect cases for the State of Arizona, representing Child Protective Services. She is also currently a Board member of Second Street Children's School.
Simone Pollard
Simone is the Associate Director, MBA Programs for the Eller MBA Program at the University of Arizona. Prior, she was a management consultant for Sibson Consulting – a division of The Segal Company in New York City. She worked as an engineer for Monsanto Chemical Company. Simone has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
Maura Grogan – Chair
Maura is the Director of Administration at BIO5, a collaborative bioresearch institute at the University of Arizona. Maura joined the Women's Foundation Board in 2003. Maura is a graduate of Yale University, and was a member of the 1976 U.S. Olympic Team, competing in luge.

Isabella Lowery
Isabella is a senior home-schooled student and a part-time student at Pima Community College. She is a valuable Unidas participant and leader entering her third year in the program. Isabella also volunteers at the YWCA’s Girls with Tools program, Saguaro National Park’s Cactus Ranger program and the Salvation Army’s Project Hospitality. She is a graduate of the Greater Tucson Leadership program at the Volunteer Center and plays the violin in Chamber II of Junior Strings.

Dr. Tracy Taft
Tracy is the executive director of the International Sonoran Desert Alliance (ISDA), a tri-cultural and tri-national nonprofit organization dedicated to cultural preservation, environmental conservation, and sustainable economic development of the natural and cultural resources of the Sonoran Desert based in Ajo, AZ. Before moving to Ajo, Tracy worked for 15 years for the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation in Washington DC where she was the Director of the Neighborhood Reinvestment Training Institute.

Jane Ragle – Marketing Committee Chair
Jane is in her final year as a board member. She was a founding board member of the Women's Foundation of Colorado and currently serves on the board of the Sonoran Institute and Social Venture Partners Greater Tucson. Since retiring from health care management, Jane has devoted her time and energies to organizations that promote women's equality both in the United States and internationally and to organizations that focus on environmental conservation and sustainability.

Judy Gans - Trustee Committee Chair
Judy is the Director of the Immigration Policy Project at the University of Arizona Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy. Raised in Brazil she speaks Portuguese fluently and recently relocated from Concord , Massachusetts . A graduate from Harvard Kennedy School with a Masters in Public Administration, Judy is an economist with expertise in U.S. immigration policy. In addition to serving as a private school trustee and President of the Parents Association in Concord , Massachusetts , she has experience in town government and municipal finance.

Jennifer Roche - Luncheon Committee Co-Chair
Jennifer has a degree in Community Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and has worked as a statistician for the John Tracy Clinic, a retail marketer for Chevron, and a manager of a glass engraving enterprise. She has taught preschool and elementary schools in Oregon and Minnesota, and chose to be at home fulltime during her four children’s school years. Jennifer continues to pursue her passions in writing, rock, bead and paintwork, and the study of the sacred feminine.

Jill McCormack
Jill has more than two decades of experience in the educational software business, including leadership and direction in educational consulting, technical services, and customer support to school districts nationwide. Jill began her career as an elementary and middle school teacher and was a master of teacher training for her school district. She holds a bachelor of science in elementary education and a bachelor of science in special education and learning disabled K-12 from the University of Arizona.
Noemi Navarro, Treasurer
Noemi is the President of La Causa Construction/Chicanos Por La Causa., which builds affordable housing, enabling many people to buy their first home. In addition, she serves on the Board of Appeals for Development Services, the City of Tucson’s Impact Fee Stakeholder Group, and the Pima County Water Conservation Task Force. Noemi previously served on the WFSA Board from 1999-2002.
Dr. Dorothy A. Green
Dorothy has 40 years of experience in administration including higher education, K-12 education, executive education, corporate administration and consultation for profit and non-profit companies and agencies on both the national and international scene. Currently, Dr. Green presides over Green Innovative Services, an education consulting organization serving her interest in international and national education reform in schools and agencies. Dorothy represents southern Arizona as a board member of the Women’s Funding Network.
Olivia Sethi - Secretary
Olivia earned her juris doctorate degree from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1998 and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona. She has served on the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the State Bar, the Arizona Minority Bar Association, the Arizona Women’s Law Association Leadership Committee, and the Arizona Attorney General’s Latino Advisory Board. Olivia is currently a stay-at-home mom. .
Valerie Diaz
Valeria is the Marketing Manager of Sol Casinos. She is a member of Las Adelitas, the Arizona César Chávez Holiday Coalition and a past member of the Governor’s Latino Advisory Council.
Eileen Palles - Luncheon Committee Co-Chair
Eileen is a past WFSA board member and has been on the Grants Policy and the Grants Allocation Committees for two years. She is currently an Assistant Attorney General and serves on several Pima County Juvenile Court committees, including the Family Drug Court Committee and Domestic Violence Committee.
Dené Rankin
Dené is proud to be a Catholic, Mexican-American woman. She respects the women of history who were strong, confident and innovative. She looks forward to helping extend the rights of women and hopes to empower women in society. Dené will be a college student in the fall majoring in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. She is also pursuing a career in law.
Dr. Joaquin Ruiz
Joaquin is Dean of the University of Arizona College of Science. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists. Joaquin is a member of the National Academy of Sciences’s Board of Earth Sciences, and was recently a member of the National Research Council on Earth materials. In addition, he serves as Chair of the UA Strategic Planning and Budget Committee. Joaquin is married with a 19-year old son, Peter. His wife, Bernadette, is an attorney.
Claudia Torres
As a senior at Cholla High Magnet School, Claudia excels in her courses and takes pride in her involvement in her extra-curricular activities. She is a participant and mentor in the Unidas Girls’ Philanthropy Program. Working as a youth apprentice for the VOICES' 110º After School Magazine Project, Claudia is learning to tell personal and community stories through writing and photography
Rick Myers
After twenty-five years of service and achievement, Rick Myers retired from the IBM Corporation, as Vice President of Development. Rick is a member of the Tucson Airport Authority and was part of the search committee for the University of Arizona President. He is the Board Chair of the Southern Arizona Leadership Council. Rick chaired the Citizens Committee of the Regional Transportation Authority and the public campaign in support of the plan and helped win a county wide election by a significant margin. He was the 2004 recipient of the Greater Tucson Leadership Community Leadership Award. Rick has made Tucson his permanent home, where he resides with his wife of 28 years, Judy. They have two grown daughters.
Fran Luchsinger - Marketing and Development Committee Chair

Fran has spent her entire career in marketing, working for agencies as well independently for both for-profit and non-profit organizations. She holds a BFA from Bradley University as well as an MBA from DePaul University and likes to emphasize her ability to handle the creative as well as the quantitative issues of a marketing assignment. Currently serving on the WFSA Marketing & Development Committee, she also serves on the Board for the Tucson American Marketing Association.

Sherry Johnson, Grants Committee Co-Chair

Sherry recently moved from St. Louis, Missouri to lead Raytheon Missile Systems’ Talent Acquisition team. She is responsible for developing and executing talent acquisition strategies and initiatives for identifying and hiring Missile System’s professional staff. Sherry holds a bachelors of Arts, Mass Communications from Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois and a Masters of Management from Cambridge College, Cambridge, Massachusetts. She served in numerous community service roles during her time in St. Louis and previous home of Boston including The United Way of Massachusetts Bay, The Partnership Boston Fellow, Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund, The Coalition of 100 Black Women, and the Greater Framingham Community Church Mentoring Program. She served on the boards of Project Place and the North Side Community Center.

Sarah Meadows, J.D., Vice-Chair

Sarah is an attorney at Snell & Wilmer, L.L.P. and has a Classics undergraduate degree. She is a board member for Brewster Center Domestic Violence Services. Sarah is also involved in animal welfare causes and organizations, including F.A.I.R., the Humane Society, the Ironwood Pig Sanctuary, and the Hermitage Cat Shelter.

Teresa Truelsen

Teresa Truelsen is business editor at the Tucson Citizen and editor of TucsonBusinessEdge.com. She also spearheads the annual 40 Under 40 awards program. She studied Mass Communication at what is now Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., and has been in the newspaper business for 20 years. A St. Louis native, Teresa and her husband moved to Tucson permanently in 1994. They have two daughters.

Maureen “Mimi Warwick

Maureen “Mimi Warwick is a nurse, currently working as the Director of Adult Inpatient Services at Tucson Medical Center. Her focus at TMC has been in assisting the organization in its nearly 30 million dollar financial turn-around. She is the mother of one young son, who keeps her on the move. She is a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
